Dr Ann Lenani is the Head of the Veterinary Division. A very senior Veterinarian having 40 yrs of experience and a Consultant to the poultry industry in Sri Lanka., She is the General Secretary of the World’s Poultry Science Association Sri Lank Branch. In her 20 yrs of Govt. Service she has accquired a vast experience in all aspects of livestock and retired as a Deputy Director (Education Training & Information) from the Dept of Animal Production & Health.
She has done Consultancies for the Food And Agriculture Organization of the UN, Asian Development Bank,German Technical Coperation,Oxfam UK,NORAD, and for the Dept of Animal Production and Health Projects funded through World Bank, Netherlands Govt. and Swiss Govt.
In the last 20 years as a Veterinary Consultant to two pharmaceutical companies in Sri Lanka she has a vast experience in registration and marketing of pharmaceuticals especially Veterinary Pharmaceticals, vaccines, and other biological products.
She has presented papers at international forums such as Commenwealth Veteeinary Association. FAO, World's Poultry Science Association.
John R Godwin obtained his primary education from one of the leading catholic schools in Sri Lanka, St Peter’s College and later attended another prominent Private school in Colombo, Royal Institute At the age of 17 John started his career as an audit trainee at Ernst & Young where he studied Management Accountancy while performing internal and external audits. At E & Y he was able audit and understand a wide spectrum of business models. Namely Banking & Finance, Hospitality, Trading, Plantation and the health sector. For the four years that was spent at E&Y he was able to master the business models and the regulatory requirements of Banking finance and Health sector as he covered both the internal audits and the external audits of most of the these firms.
Later he joined HSBC and mastered the art of retail banking, by covering all the arears of retail banking. From being a teller to the chief casher, to the branch manager and every seat in between. Even though he studied to be a Management accountant his passion was for sales and Marketing. This passion led him to be in one of the first members to launch the financial sales teams in HSBC Sri Lanka. With the immense knowledge in the backoffice operations, John Godwin was able to excel in the field of Financial Sales. He was able to climb the ladder very soon and was leading the sales teams. Subsequently he joined a local bank as the Head of Sales accounting for a portfolio of over Rs 40 Billion (USD 250 million) in retail assets of the bank.
Even though John studied to be an Management accountant his passion was in sales, thus completed his Master’s in the university of Ballarat Australia ( Presently known as the Federation University). At the helm of his banking career John along with Dr Reshan formed Medica Lanka Pvt Ltd. Today he is mainly looking after the Sales side of the company.
Dr Reshan Godwin an Entrepreneur, a Russian qualified MBBS Doctor, a civil servant in the Sri Lankan Government’s Health Ministry and a very important member in the Sri Lankan Army at the height of war, serving as an Orthopedic Surgeon.
Dr Reshan’s primary education was at one of the leading private Catholic schools in the country, namely St Peter’s College. He was able to develop multidiscipline and bring glory to his Alma mater. His school mates are holding ministerial portfolios in the Sri Lankan government and some have perused their carries in the business. Later he proceeded to Russia, St Petersburg to further his studies in the field of Medicine. Within the 7 years that he spent in Russia he has been able to widen his horizons by making new friends around the globe. Today these friends are holding some of the key positions in the field of Medicine, heads of health ministries, Heads of Pharmaceutical companies around the globe.
After returning to Sri Lanka Dr. Reshan served in the Sri Lankan Army medical core., at the height of the nation’s Civil war. Later Dr Reshan was recalled to the ministry and posted in one of the rural hospitals namely Moneragala. Here he built his nag for serving the rural community and soon became popular with both his collogues and the community. After serving a mere 2 years Dr Reshan was recalled by the Sri Lankan Army to their Orthopedic team, where he rendered his services till the end of the civil war.
With this wealth of experience, knowledge and global affiliations, Dr Reshan was able to hold key positions in the Health Ministry of Sri Lanka. He was able to work very closely with the then Health Minister (currently the President of Sri Lanka) and many other cabinet minister’s (presently holding both government and opposition portfolios)
Dr Reshan’s entrepreneurial skills was displayed with the joining of the family business in Lenwin Eterprises in 1992. A partnership that continued till 2002 where he founded a Pharmaceutical company with one of his friend. At this point he was serving as the Managing director. In the same era Dr Reshan was one of the key officials in several government director boards, hospitals, medical institutions and in leading sport clubs. His voice was well herd in all these institutions to turn to correct tracts in making profits.
Since forming Medica Lanka with his brother, they have come a long way making the company, one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Sri Lanka. With the service excellence, a few of the products in the company are market leaders for the last couple of years.
Our distribution is island wide with dedicated distributors who are flexible, timely and efficient. All products are cautiously handled with care especially vaccines where the cold chain is maintained correctly. They are despatched either directly from our stores to end users or through distributors and stockists spread throughout the country.
